Contemporary Ex Votos

The contemporary Ex Votos class was my favorite at Art Unraveled. I made two Ex Votos - one is somewhat traditional while the second one is really just a tribute to Mom and Dad and us kids.

For some info in Ex Votos, check this out.

During class I got to use a (minor) power tool...a dremel with a saw blade attachment. I had to cut a tiny metal van in order to make it into a tiny pickup. I wore goggles and actually made the little thing whine till it overheated three times. We used liquid nails, paints, E6000 glue, and tons of junk. The instructor dumped out three large cardboard boxes of screws, plumbing attachments, and a plethora of metal parts. We got to dig through and select things to make our Ex Voto 3 dimensional.

I've included some photos. The KC (for kitty cat) Ex Voto is very similar in concept to traditional Ex Votos...of course the materials I used are unique and contemporary.
