Mary's Musings

This is where I share a bit about my day to day life with family and friends. No deep thoughts here and minimal negativity, I guarantee!

My Week

I have been in a whirlwind of activities the past few days. I'm a new Realtor. I can say that since I passed my exams, paid my dues, and got a sponsoring Broker - Keller Williams.

Since Monday I have signed a sponsorship agreement, had orientation with Michelle, sat through two training sessions, had a meeting with trainer/coach Nancy, met Cade at the Lubbock Association of Realtors, and had the opportunity to tour the KW offices. Now I'm leaning toward working from home rather than paying rent on an office at KW. There are plenty of work spaces that home-based agents can use at the office. I will be attending training sessions at KW every Monday-Thursday afternoon, computer/technology training on Mondays, and a full day orientation event at LAR early October. Tomorrow I'll have photos made at Family Photo for business cards and website. I'm a bit anal about this and went through the KW website yesterday and looked at all the women agents photos! I copied/pasted and printed some that I like and some I do NOT like. This will hopefully help me in deciding what to wear and I can show them to the photographer. (probably give him/her a big laugh) Things are in overdrive right now and I find it very envigorating. Of course my house has kind of gone to hell!

The Fair is in town and I entered 5 or 6 items of art work in the Women's division. I was so anxious to go out and see if I won a ribbon but I haven't had a spare minute to run out there. I may get to go at noon today with the girls or we will go Saturday morning.

Mom had some medical tests this week. We were concerned but the doctor relieved us by letting us know it is a good report - no disease to deal with. Then, yesterday afternoon she was doing a task at home and broke her thumb. I'll go see her in awhile and probably take her to a doctor's appointment. The thumb has been set but she needs to see an orthopedic surgeon now. We are hoping to go on a cruise late October and I'm wondering how long it takes a thumb to heal and how disabled a person is with that injury.
