Thanks to the Artists

I wanted to send a special THANK YOU to the artists who created the cigar box shrines that I "won". I do feel like a winner when I see these lovely and thought provoking niches.

Cory Celaya - A beautiful shrine utilizing many methods, colors, textures and findings. The primary image of mother and child is surrounded mosaic look shards, candles, and flowers. In memory of her son Mitch Celaya. Thank you Cory.

Elizabeth Bunsen - This shrine is awesome in its simplicity and message. Gold foil is the background for a piece of shattered plexiglass. A snowflake heart with a cursive "listen" is affixed to the plexiglass.

Sharon Cunningham - Metal working rivets, chains, and hearts give this shrine its heft. It is wonderfully symbolic and has so many fine details from carved wooden angels up top to skeletal remains with a treasure chest in the crypt below. "For where your treasure is...there your heart will be also" is the message on the shrine.

I have a cigar box - one day soon I hope to create my first shrine. You ladies have been an inspiration.
