Stay Home MawMaw - Day 2

Life is good. Yes, I'm tired and my back hurts and my feet hurt but I'm still smiling. Yesterday was a super day with the babes. We went to Wagner park and the kids played while I read my book. I'm reading Traveling Mercies by Anne Lamott now. We went to the grocery store and shopped together, had sandwiches WITH lettuce and tomato for lunch. We had mandatory quiet time after lunch - more for me than the kids.

Today was little bit's 5th birthday so we had more to do getting ready for her party. So I'm mo' tired. We had lunch at Burger King, the kids played in the kiddie pool, and Ash made deviled eggs for the first time. 'lyssa got a red wagon, wedding Barbie, Cars etch-a-sketch, and a bed and car for her dolly. She is wealthy in toys this evening! For the dinner we used a pink and yellow color scheme and she was so tickled that we bought a bouquet of fresh flowers for the dinner table. Ashley trimmed the flowers and Alyssa arranged them in a white pitcher.

Went to see Dad at hospital after the party and Cindy went with me which was so nice. Dad seemed really good but it is worrisome that he is getting up on his own. There was a nurses note that they have reminded him about calling them to assist him when he gets up. He is being stubborn though so I just hope he won't take a fall. Tomorrow will be the lumbar puncture...test to see if a surgery/shunt would help his condition.

Now I'm chillin' and watching Queer Eye for the Straight Guy in Vegas. Such a neat episode...a couple that obvioulsy loves one another SO much. If you ever get a chance...watch it!
