Friends and I plan to have lunch at Stein's on Thursday. A friend from college has a college aged son who will have art on display so I thought it would be cool to check out the art and lunch with work pals. Then I noticed that beneath the cafe name it says 'alternative art'. That brought all kinds of images to mind, some of which aren't particularly appetizing. Friend 'M' described in GREAT detail an explicit alternative art sculpture she had seen of a dragon/man. Friend 'A' decided she couldn't choke down a sandwich if she had to stare at something like that. I offered to go 'screen' the place and the art ahead of time but friend 'G' said nah...if we don't like the look of it we can go to the high class joint just down the street...Weinerschnitzel.

Well, I'm not sure if my first painterly paintings would be considered alternative or outsider or naive or lousy. But I do know they are weird and I'm actually a bit proud of that. I'll try to post some here if I can figure out how.
