Art Trail May 07

I visited 4 galleries and...one coffee shop tonight. The coffee shop had art on display too. Assemblage and paintings...one of which (a painting) was huge. Probably 10 ft by 4 feet. It was really something. How is that for a commentary on art? The Art Trail is really growing and it is such a delight. Now there are 20 official stops but I saw several others with signs outside...art 4 sale and the like...in the downtown area. The display at the Hardtops Gallery was the 2nd annual "Artistic Grandmothers" exhibit. Hey...I'm a grandmother. Maybe for the 3rd annual I can participate.

I think the most unique art I saw tonight was at the Art on Texas gallery. A young lady, Ann Gedicks, had several pieces on display that were dry point on wood. It looked like (was) etching. Her works are energetic random landscapes. She adds story to the works by etching in phrases and words that add intrigue rather than explaining the images.

Today is Carol's birthday. Happy Birthday to you Carol! And Sherry is coming home for a visit tomorrow - we will have a birthday dinner for her while she is here although her birthday is a week or so down the road still.

For tonight...thazzzallfolks.
